Event Description:
ISU is pleased to announce a series of R workshops being held in May and June. All courses will be data centric, with a mix of instruction and hands-on experience. The courses are held in one of their computer labs, but you can bring your own machines as well. Registration fees for each of the courses are $30 for ISU affiliates, please contact Heike Hofmann (hofmann@iastate.edu) for rates for non-ISU affiliates.
Workshop - Advanced Graphics in R
The package ggplot2 gives a framework to produce elegant, high-end graphical displays following the technical framework of the Grammar of Graphics (Wilkinson 2000). We will use a lot of data examples to work through the basic plots as well as more advanced plots, such as maps, time series charts and maybe even animations! You should have a good understanding of R to make the most of this course (the previous workshop would get you up to speed for it).
