The 2026 Iowa Biotech Showcase & Conference takes place March 3 and 4, 2026, at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny, Iowa.

The Biotech Showcase Pitch Competition consists of emerging biotech companies that apply to be considered to present and compete for a monetary prize of $10,000 and a free one-year IowaBio membership. Applications from all biotech industries will be considered, including human health, med device, animal health, food/agriculture, ag-tech, bio materials, industrial, and environmental.

Biotech Showcase Pitch Competition applications will be accepted starting Monday, Sept. 8 through Satuday, Nov. 1.

No. The Biotech Showcase Pitch Competition is open to all emerging biotech companies. Examples of relevant areas of focus include human health and medical technology; biomaterials; advances in food, ag-tech and plant genetics; progress in animal health; as well as industrial and environmental biosciences.

No - there is no fee to apply to the Biotech Showcase Pitch Competition.

Submitting an application does not automatically qualify you to present at the Biotech Showcase Pitch Competition. Companies will be notified by mid-November/early-December if their company has been selected.

On the day of the competition, selected companies will provide a live 5-minute presentation and then receive 8 minutes of Q&A by an expert panel of industry-leading judges. An informational packet with further instructions and requirements will be sent to selected companies to assist with the items referenced above.

The 2026 Biotech Showcase Pitch Competition prize is $10,000! The winner will be announced to all attendees on March 4, 2026, at the end of that day's agenda. A staff member from IowaBio will notify the winner of their selection earlier that morning so they can be prepared to make live remarks following the announcement.

If selected to present at the Biotech Showcase Pitch Competition, complimentary registrations for the two-day event will be provided to the presenters from your company. Additional attendees or applicants not chosen to present will receive a promo code to register at our discounted "Member Rate".
